Parent Association

The Parent Association is the heart and soul of Hollywood Schoolhouse. These parents meticulously craft a calendar of events each year, and work hard to foster a parent community that matches the spirit and camaraderie of our faculty, staff, and student body. They meet monthly to plan events, give back to Hollywood Schoolhouse and the community at large, and find innovative ways to connect parents across grade levels. They enrich our program by welcoming new families, by acting as ambassadors to fellow parents, and are models of volunteerism for our students. All Parent Association fundraising goes towards Tuition Assistance at the Schoolhouse. Reach out to us; pa@hshla.org

Aside from ongoing fundraisers and community-building events put on throughout the year, the Parent Association is responsible for several community-wide events each year. From Harvest Festival and Winterfest to the Spring Gala, there is always something to look forward to from our dedicated parent volunteers.

The Parent Association encourages all parents to find a way to get involved in the Schoolhouse community, and there are plenty of opportunities throughout the year to do just that. From volunteering in the Library or Community Garden to helping with the Book Fair or next big community event, all parents are invited to sign up to participate as they are able.

Hollywood Schoolhouse believes in the importance of being civically engaged members of our community, and the Parent Association works year-round to provide opportunities for parents and students to come together in service to the community around us. Whether it is hosting a movie night for our friends at PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) or cleaning up our neighborhood on Big Sunday, there are many opportunities for Schoolhouse families to become more actively engaged members of the Hollywood community.

The Parent Association actively fundraises throughout each school year for Tuition Assistance, and a portion of that is made possible by our parent body’s everyday purchases and practices. Whether it is designating Hollywood Schoolhouse as the cause you support on AmazonSmile or collecting BoxTops for Education, there are multiple ways you can support the Schoolhouse all year long.

The Party Book is an online catalog of events managed by the Parent Association and hosted by HSH families throughout the year. Planned with parents, students, and families in mind, events range from kids movie nights, adult game nights, and cocktail parties to trips to museums, and much, much more. Open to all Schoolhouse families, these parties are a great way to spend time with your HSH friends or make some new ones, all while raising money for the school.

The most significant fundraising event of the Parent Association’s year is the Spring Gala. By purchasing tickets, donating auction items, and volunteering, we encourage the entire Schoolhouse community to come together in support of this event that is a time-honored Schoolhouse tradition and important event championing Tuition Assistance at HSH.
