Hollywood Schoolhouse students are just coming off a very successful run of a magical and inspiring show titled, “Any Dream Will Do.”  “Any Dream Will Do,” was a holiday musical journey, conceived by Mr. Ray, with your favorite holiday music from the stage and the screen!
The show featured our Preschool, Junior Kindergarten, and Elementary Students in four separate performances. Each show was narrated by our 6th Graders who opened the show with the title song, “Any Dream Will Do,” dazzling us with some beautiful harmonies.  The 6th Graders continued to wow us with a fantastic opening tap dance to “Let Yourself Go,” from the musical, “White Christmas!”A few other musical highlights were, “There is a Santa Claus,” from “Elf, the Musical,” “Tradition,” from “Fiddler on the Roof,” “What’s This?” from “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” “La Fiesta de la Posada,” from “December Nights, December Lights,” and “Kwanzaa Celebration,” from “December in Our Town.”
Each class performed a vocal number and a dance number and, once again, the children had the opportunity to perform their numbers with a live band!  We were able to focus on advanced rhythms, diction, and singing in foreign languages like Spanish and Swahili.  The children also learned about many holidays and traditions celebrated throughout the world through dance.  To honor the Lunar New Year, the children performed a Chinese fan dance to, “Honor To Us All,” from “Mulan,” and to honor Kwanzaa, an African Swahili Dance was performed to the song, “Kwanzaa Celebration.”
