At HSH, belonging isn’t just something we talk about. It’s something we feel in every classroom, every friendship, and every hello at the gate. Students are celebrated for who they are. Teachers know their stories. And parents become part of a strong, diverse, and deeply connected community.
As part of our partnership with the Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Making Caring Common project, we focus on raising young people who are not only curious learners, but kind, courageous, and inclusive community members. Inside and out of the classroom, students explore what it means to show gratitude and act with integrity every day.

Community is built in big and small ways, from Morning Meet-Ups to Community Circles and Helping Hands Day. These moments create shared memories and remind us that school is more than just academics; it’s about growing together as a community.
We head off-campus for Field Trips that bring classroom learning to life, exploring interesting places like Joshua Tree, Pali Camp, and Catalina Island Marine Institute. Twice a year, we celebrate perseverance and character through our Knight Awards, honoring students who inspire by example. And our all-school DREAM Week transforms the campus into a wonderland of discovery and exploration. Traditions like these help children see themselves as part of something bigger.
