Grade 1, Lead Teacher

Lauren McCaffrey

Lauren always knew working with children and teaching would be her calling since her elementary years growing up in Orange County. During college Lauren studied and received her B.A. in Sociology from the University of California Santa Barbara. Following college, she jumped right into education, substituting regularly as she started working towards her credential and became a reading intervention specialist in a Title 1 school.

While getting her credential at California State University, Dominguez Hills, Lauren’s teaching philosophy became clear; she was thrilled to discover the Hollywood Schoolhouse, which matched all she believed education should be! During her time at HSH Lauren has been able to further her career, clearing her credential through the University of California Los Angeles. Lauren has been teaching with the HSH community since 2010; starting as the Dolphin teacher for 2 years and then relishing in the joys of 1st grade ever since!

In her free time, Lauren loves spending time with her family, traveling, and practicing yoga. She loves yoga so much she is now a certified yoga instructor, which she enjoys bringing into the classroom.

Now Lauren not only gets to enjoy teaching at HSH, but also being a parent, with her oldest baby in the ECE program!
