Dolphins, Lead Teacher

Carmen Travers

Ms. Carmen has spent most of her life just a few short miles from the Hollywood Schoolhouse. Originally born in Mexico, she loves to see the students embrace the cultural diversity that is represented.

While working towards her BA at Cal State Northridge, Ms. Carmen joined the HSH family (including her own sister Ms. Lucile) as an Afterschool Assistant Coordinator. Very quickly it became evident to her that she had found her calling. Upon graduating she joined the Schoolhouse community full-time as an Assistant Teacher and has never looked back. She is currently co-teaching alongside Ms. Laura in the Caterpillar classroom. Her passion for teaching is infectious and students make an impact in her life as much as she hopes to in theirs.

Away from work Ms. Carmen loves to exercise, read, and watch baseball (go Dodgers!).
