After Spring Break, both 1st Grade classes have been immersed in all things related to animals and their habitats.
The children have been learning about what a habitat is, how it is characterized, and what different types there are. The children wore safari hats and turned their desks into jeeps so they could “visit” each habitat and discover who and what lives there.
The students have been learning about animal groups, their behaviors, and how they survive in their natural habitat. To enhance their excitement on animals, each child was given an specific animal to research and become an expert on. They will gather information on their animal, write a research paper on it, build the animal out of clay, and create a model of its natural habitat. They can’t wait to share their finished products soon!
