Penguin Art

The children in the Penguin class have been exploring a unit on art thanks to Ms. Esmeralda’s Passion Project. Her poster board demonstrated some of her favorite styles such as marble, geometric, and mosaic art. The students also read the book The Dot, a great story that encouraged self-expression. The Penguins also read Emily’s Blue Period which highlighted cubist artist, Pablo Picasso, and his ways of mixing things up!
The Penguins practiced some of these art styles by creating geometric paintings with tape, and trying their hands at marble art. They concluded with mosaic art where each child placed small pieces of colored materials on the letter of their first name.
