Grade 2, Teacher Assistant

Nicole Costales

Ms. Nicole was born and raised in Los Angeles. As an only child, she spent most of her childhood getting lost in books and reading cereal boxes. It is only fitting that Nicole received a BA in English Literature with an emphasis in Creative Writing from UCLA. Throughout college, she volunteered as a Camp Kesem counselor and participated in Reading Partners, a tutoring organization dedicated to fostering a love for reading in our youths. As the 1st Grade Teacher Assistant, she continues to enjoy the fun-loving spirits of our 1st Graders! To her, teaching is an opportunity to make every day the best day for her students. When not at HSH, Nicole enjoys eating Chinese food while watching dateline re-runs, planning trips, baking (aka making a mess in the kitchen), and journaling quotes. Her favorite quote is by John Wooden: “Be more concerned with your character than with your reputation.
