Lisa has worked in independent schools since 2000 and has worked in admissions for over 15 years. A Southern California native, Lisa grew up in the beachside community of Redondo Beach and earned a Bachelor of Science from California State University Dominguez Hills. Before coming to Hollywood Schoolhouse, Lisa worked in the Admissions Department at Wildwood School in West Los Angeles where she helped grow the middle and upper school. She then moved to the bay area for the opportunity to be the Assistant Director of Admissions at Santa Catalina School before returning to Southern California and joining Hollywood Schoolhouse in 2009.
Lisa loves Admissions because she has a genuine interest in meeting families, making personal connections, and helping families through the admissions process. For Lisa, building these relationships is the cornerstone of admissions and doesn’t end when a student is accepted. Helping students and families feel a part of the community is essential. Lisa has said, “I came to Hollywood Schoolhouse for the opportunity to lead a new department, but I stay because of my colleagues and the diverse community of families and educators.”
In her spare time, Lisa is likely to be traveling. Whether she is hopping in the car for a cross-country road trip or flying to another country, travel gives Lisa not only the opportunity to vacation and relax but also to explore other cultures and meet people from all over the world.
