Lauren always knew working with children and teaching would be her calling since her elementary years growing up in Orange County. During college Lauren studied and received her B.A. in Sociology from the University of California Santa Barbara. Following college, she began the process of becoming a teacher while working in public schools in the Santa Barbara area. Lauren was a substitute teacher at various schools for a year and then worked as a reading intervention specialist in a Title 1 school for another year. The credentialing program at California State University, Dominguez Hills brought Lauren down to Los Angeles.
While getting her credential, Lauren’s teaching philosophy became clear and she knew there must be a school that would match all she believed in, which is when she discovered the Hollywood Schoolhouse! During her time at HSH Lauren has been able to further her career, clearing her credential through the University of California Los Angeles. Lauren has been teaching with the HSH community since 2010; starting as the Dolphin teacher for 2 years and then relishing in the joys of 1st grade ever since!
In her free time, Lauren loves practicing yoga, hiking, going to the beach, hanging out with her family and friends, and she loves dogs!
