Ms. Abigail teaches fifth and sixth grade Language Arts, sixth grade Current Events, the Journalism elective, and is the HSH Upper Elementary Coordinator. This year will be her tenth at HSH. The principals and values that comprise the HSH mission statement, the purposeful inclusivity, and the strong sense of community that the students and faculty all share continue to keep her coming back for more, year after year.
Los Angeles has always been her home, and Ms. Abi wouldn’t have it any other way! She loves to be able to swim, sail, and kayak one day; then hike, rock climb, and snow board the next. Most days, she can be found line dancing or spending time with her darling nephew.
Roald Dahl’s, The Witches, is her most well-worn book, and in between works of literature you will find her reading a thriller, horror, or romance novel. Ms. Abi devours comics and graphic novels as well. Wes Craven, George A. Romero, and John Carpenter are a few of her favorite directors, although A League of Their Own is her very favorite movie. Indian is at the top of her list, food wise. Ms. Abi’s favorite HSH event is the traditional Halloween Parade. She loves to dress up and go out all out with her costumes, just as much as the kids do, if not more so!
Volunteering in our greater Los Angeles community has always been a passion for Ms. Abi. She will be orchestrating various volunteering opportunities throughout the upcoming school year, and she looks forward to sharing with the students the joys of being of service.
