Our 3rd Graders recently had the opportunity to visit the Leonis Adobe Museum in Calabasas. They had an amazing day experiencing life on an 1800’s Rancho! Students churned butter, made tortillas, used a mortar and pestle to grind up corn, rounded up cattle, pumped water, washed clothes, fed the animals, and learned how the vaqueros lassoed cattle. Tour guides shared the history of the Rancho with them and took them around to see the garden, the living quarters, the barn, all the animals on the property, and so much more. History came to life for our 3rd Grade friends!
